When I was thinking of getting a tattoo I had ideas about what I wanted but I also wanted some inspiration for my new angels tattoos. I looked at as many pics, books and magazines as possible and slowly I built up an image of what I wanted my new design to look like. As I have said before, I wanted a lovely design and absolutely NO regrets!

If you are serious about getting your first tattoo then here are my personal hints:
- Think carefully about your new tattoo design. Have you got a favorite person, symbol or belief that means a lot to you?
- Combine your favorite symbol with an angel design – this works well.
- Remember to create a design which you will ALWAYS adore.
- Don’t choose a design which will go out of fashion or cause problems e.g. your boy/girl friends name! (What if you break up? – eek!)
- Go for a small design for your first tattoo. As your confidence grows, you can go for larger, more dramatic tattoos.
- Do not have your first tattoo on a part of your body which can be sensitive e.g. not the shin/lower leg area.
I love my angels tattoos and I’m real pleased I did not rush into getting the first tattoo design that caught my eye – I now know that first design was gross and I would have regretted having it! My first tattoo was small and delicate and just right.
